Michelle Herbon is a senior consultant at Public Sector Consultants specializing in education policy and research. Ms. Herbon serves as a key policy analyst and researcher on a variety of issues affecting the Michigan education system including early childhood education, emergency managers, school governance, teacher evaluation, and more. Currently, Ms. Herbon also works closely with several special education projects, including a statewide monitoring and compliance initiative where she serves as a training specialist. She has also collaborated with local foundations to write a Promise Neighborhood grant and with local school districts to write a strategic plan.
Prior to joining PSC, Ms. Herbon taught first grade in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. As a graduate student, she interned for the Massachusetts Secretary of Education, where she worked on school district consolidation efforts.
Ms. Herbon holds a bachelor’s degree from Saginaw Valley State University and a master’s degree in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
